starly lou riggs is a queer non-binary visual artist from the United States, based in both Portland, Oregon and Buenos Aires, Argentina. They have been writing and drawing since they were a kid, and eventually found home in theater and performance based art forms. Following an expected trajectory to attend college, they obtained a BA in film production at Hampshire College and an MFA in printmaking at Pacific Northwest College of Art, although most of their work is inspired by and in collaboration with the queer and music communities they found themselves immersed in. Their work–from photography to soft sculpture, video to ink drawing–is a process to explore and play, creating dreamscapes and characters as a way to rewrite norms, reexamine perception, and reevaluate history while normalizing queer faces, spaces, and feelings.

You can view more of this work in their book, el amor es enfermo y el diablo es un sueño.
