Breathing Room is a collection of quiet moments of solitude made in 2020 on 35mm film. Each image is an observation on the result of forced isolation during a global health crisis.
Alyson Bowen (she/they) is a Portland-based photographer, as well as the founding editor of Borderline Press. Her practice revolves around her curiosity, self-discovery and her desire to explore. Alyson's work has been included in several publications and exhibitions both nationally and internationally including the Fotofilmic JRNL, Creative Quarterly journal, Lightbox Photographic Gallery, PULP Gallery, Photographer’s Forum Magazine, and Blue Sky Gallery's PNW Drawers.
